What’s In Your Heart?

FEATURED

My title for today’s post is, “What’s in your heart?” During my quiet time I was reading in Luke 6 right around verse 43.

As I read, I started to think, “what’s in my heart?” It’s a question we should all asks ourselves from time to time. The Bible tells us in verse 43, “for a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. Verse 45, “a good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. Then we get to my key verse, “for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

It’s really easy to tell what kind of fruit a person is producing. The title for this text is “a tree is known by its fruit.” In other words, an apple tree will produce apples. A pear tree will produce pears and so on. Well it’s the same in our lives….

What kind of fruit are you producing? Is it toxic, hateful, anger, jealousy, strife, murmuring, grumbling, or complaining? What’s in your heart? Whatever you give most thought to is what will produce in your life. Do people see Jesus in you? Are you being the “light of the world?” Can people tell you really are a Christian? What comes out of your mouth is what is in your heart. And what is in your heart will eventually come out of your mouth!

Perhaps you are ready to make a change. You have decided that it’s time for you to start producing “good fruit.” Maybe you are ready to start producing the fruit of the Spirit.  Let me give you some practical steps that you can take to start making changes in your life.

Step 1: Repent – ask God to forgive you for the things you have said or done (He is faithful.)

Step 2: Pray – ask God to help you change what you are saying and producing in your life.

Step 3: Read your Bible – allow the Word of God to change you from the inside out.

Step 4: Speak – begin to speak into existence what you want to see happen in your life. In other words, speak God’s Word which is Truth!

Step 5: Decide – you have to decide that you will not go back to the same old person you once were.

Step 6: Believe – that God is able to take the impossible and make it possible in your life. He is able to change you!

Today is a NEW day to start over! God is faithful and willing to change your heart. Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and to help you begin to produce the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Luke 6:45 – “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

I’m cheering you on!

Watch What You Say!

Psalm 141:3

“Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.”

God has really been showing me during my quiet time how powerful the words that I speak really are. The words we speak have a tremendous impact on our lives. Words quite literally determine our future!

Proverbs 18:21 KJV, says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” We have the power to choose death or life! That’s incredible!!!

Have you ever just sat and listened to a person talk and couldn’t believe what you were hearing. They were talking about how sick they are, how broke they are, how tired they are, and how bad their kids are, and how their husband doesn’t do this or that. It’s almost sickening to hear! Everything that person is experiencing in her life is a result of the words coming out of her mouth!

We have to be very careful with what we say. We must consistently speak faith-filled words. Our words should line up with God’s Word! If you are not speaking God’s Word, it’s time to!!!

We must make a decision right now that from this day forward, I will set a watch over my lips. You must determine in your heart and mind that you will consistently fill your mouth with the Word of God.

If you don’t know what’s in your heart, simply listen to what is coming out of your mouth. The Bible says in Luke 6:45, “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” Whatever is simply in your heart, will eventually come out of your mouth.

Why don’t you take a stand of determination, and decided that you no longer speak words of defeat, chaos, stress, or death over your life, family, job, or current situation. It’s time to line up our words with God’s Word!!

Begin to declare: I am HEALED! I am HEALTHY! I am STRONG! I am PROSPEROUS! I am SUCCESSFUL! I am a CHILD of GOD! I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY MADE! I am PEACEFUL and FULL of JOY! GOD is causing me to PROSPER and be in GOOD HEALTH! I am MORE than a CONQUEROR! I CAN do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

I hope you have been blessed with this message! Please feel free to share this message of hope!

God Bless You!
